The Zapper… where have I heard that before?
It’s that time of the year again – E3. So of course, the pages upon pages of info is cluttered at best, on any site I trawl through. Before we get into that mess, a few non-E3 news first.

Origami. I went a bit mad one summer, and instead of just making a thousand cranes (usually for sick relatives, Senbazuru/千羽鶴 was made as a ‘get well soon’ thing), I experimented with the number of cranes that could be made from one bit of paper. Four joined up via wing tips… that was a hard one. Easiest among those was the ‘parent and child’ combo – beaks touching, one smaller than the other. I’m still rather fond of making them now and again. Anyhoo, a novel DS Origami will be released 9th August in Japan for approx. £20. For screenshots, check this article out. Definitely easier than what I was attempting back then, it teaches you bit by bit the basics.
Nea Dea Online, another of those countless MMORPGs in vogue around Japan now is going to be offering a chance to be chosen among the first 3,000 beta testers. The link will take you to the sign up page. Sign up is possible between 10th to 19th, testing will be between 24th to 7th August. Oh and apparently you will need to log in if you’re up for it. If you’re into those Japanese characters that have huge heads, and you have a vague working knowledge of Japanese, it might be a chance for you :)
Wii points will be available to buy from convenience stores across Japan, as of 6th August. According to the article posted about this, the following stores will be selling three types of prepaid cards (1000points for ¥1000, 2000points, 3000points): 「サークルK」「サンクス」「デイリーヤマザキ」「ファミリーマート」「ミニストップ」「ローソン(8月下旬からLoppiにて)」. Convenience indeed.
Right E3 news then.

PSP: New PSPs weighing a mere 189g (incl. batteries) will be sold from September in 3 colours (Piano Black, Ceramic White, Ice Silver). The model no. will be known as PSP-2000 by the way. There are special packs too: Star Wars Battlefront PSP Entertainment Pack will be on sale in US from 9th October for $199. Home will start this autumn too, though details aren’t clear.
