Wii pricing for the UK is estimated, with VAT, to be about £150. Cheap, then, compared to PS3 or Xbox360. Nintendo has started sale of a DSLite vibration cartridge at about £6, from their online shop. I expect, however, that it won’t be shipped outside of Japan, and that those of us abroad will have to wait for our own release dates.
Capcom’s Shin Onimusha Dawn of Dreams has now a Special Pack in their range, consisting of the original soundtrack (3CDs), Colour Booklet (12page) and a film of The Story. It costs approx. £20, and is available from Capcom’s online shop. Collector’s item as it may be, I honestly don’t know which shops will stock them outside of Japan, so good luck finding it.

Bill Gates unimpressed with Wii controller, apparently. Well, I’m sure Nintendo designers are far from being total gibbering idiots, so they’d have thought about such possibilites and prevented them. This total apathy that Microsoft bosses always seem to have for anything outside their own product range, could seriously hinder their profits. If they really want to crack the Japanese games industry, wouldn’t it be logical to start studying what Nintendo’s been doing? Pfft! The comments made by Gates and Moore just sounds as if they’re jealous, to me.
Star Fox DS will be titled Star Fox Command for overseas. Due to come out 26th August in America, though no price has been listed yet. No mention of when Europe or Japan will release it.
PS 100th post :) Thanks for reading people!

No confirmed pricing as of yet, but Wii, it has been announced, will cost approx. 25,000yen, and no more than US$250, according to this. Going along the Nintendo traditional route of ‘cheap and accessible’ then.
For the DS, Touch! Bomberman Land will be out on 20th July (in Japan, obviously) for approx. £25.20. Reportedly easy to navigate – use the touchpen to indicate where you’d like to go – and has three modes: Land (where you get to do the ‘adventure’ part of the game), Attraction (where the various ‘attractions’ you’ve cleared within the main game will be available to up to 4 players), and Battle (through the Wi-fi connection, up to 8 players).

Nintendogs is still going strong. Another of the series by the name of Dalmatian and Friends, which is going to be exclusive to Europe only, will make its debut on 16th June. There are no plans to sell them either in Japan or the US as of yet.
According to this, DSLite sold in Europe will be available in Crystal White and Sleek Black, for 150Euros/£99.99. No other colour variations then. My other half was excited that he’ll finally get a neat match with his black iPod. I’m sure many other Apple fans will feel the same way. As for the black version appearing in Japan… no news of that yet.
The director for the new Super Smash Bros. X, Sakurai, has confirmed on the Japanese site that there will be some changes made to the character line-up – that is, some characters from the previous game on the GC will be dropped. No name-dropping (excuse the pun) however.

Adding to further the current speculation, according to some rumours, DSLite will be priced around 150 Euro. And here’s a list of future Nintendo releases over the next few months.
Animal Crossing soundtrack? Isn’t that interesting? Actually, this doesn’t, by and large, include any of us living outside Japanese borders, but it’s interesting nonetheless – you know, collector’s value and all that. According to Famitsu they’ll be selling the N64 version of Animal Crossing Totakeke Music. One CD has 29 songs, and two types of CDs are available. 1CD is going to cost you approx. £10, while getting both will set you back another £5. How to get your hands on these… well now, it gets complicated. You’re apparently going to need some Famitsu-related mags, and their special forms. Weekly Famitsu (16/06, 23/06, 30/06, 7/07), Famitsu DS + Cube & Advance (July, August) and Famitsu Wave DVD (July) will have these forms and the ‘how to’, apparently [週刊ファミ通 6月16日号、6月23日・30日合併号、6月30日号増刊、7月7日・14日 合併号; ファミ通DS+キューブ&アドバンス 7月、8月号; ファミ通WaveDVD 7月号]. Oh, and you’ll have to send in the form by 30th June, at which point, the item will be delivered to you by August.

Just a quick note to all you guys trawling the net for info on when the famed DSLite is out… Heard from two sources so far that the release date in the UK is 23rd next month. No idea of what price it’ll be, though no doubt much cheaper than the PSP. Isn’t that good? Not too long at all :)

FF III site has an E3 movie for a limited time only. Go check it out – bottom right hand corner. I lost patience though… despite my broadband connection, it was very slow and jerky. You’ve been warned. (Oh, and you need Flash Player 7 or above to play it)
Majesco has announced they will be developing Puzzle Bobble for Wii – to be released in the US sometime next year. They reckon it’ll be easier to play with the Wii controller.
DSLite UK release… we all want it now, but obviously everyone else in the world has to get it before we, on this remote rainy island, get our hands on it. Rumoured to be sometime next month…though possibly July. So not too long a wait :)

For those FF fans who collect all original soundtracks, you’re in luck this month. On the 24th, FF XI Treasures of Ahturghan one will come out for approx. £10, while on the 31st, FF XII one is out for approx. £20.
Japan’s a country where anime/manga, if deemed popular enough, will make it onto the small, then the big screen, and vice versa. Same thing with games. The latest in line for this transformation is none other than Animal Crossing. Here’s the cutesy (anything will sell, if only thought of as cute – how inane?) image.
Oh, and Metal Gear Solid’s promotional video can be seen now, though you will need a Windows Media Player. One of them is reportedly 15mins long.

Talk about information overload… For those of you looking for a full E3 coverage, you’re looking in the wrong place. I’m just picking and choosing between my interests here, and decided to stick to just the Nintendo stuff (and not all of it either).
Wii
“Wii will launch worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2006. Prices and other launch details will be announced at a later date.” or so their site says. There’s also two promotional videos: Concept and Software Introduction.
Super Smash Bros.
Info at official game site. To change the site into Japanese, type ‘jp’ instead of ‘en’. It’ll sadly be coming out sometime next year though, missing the launch of the console.
Lucas Arts
They say that they’re very interested in doing a game for Wii, but as of yet, no titles will be forthcoming. They want, apparently, something that allows gamers to use those ‘voom voom’ lightsabers :)
Miyamoto at Nintendo Round Table
The article I chose is in full here, by the way.
Miyamoto said that previously, despite the GC being 3D and playable, it still had that little problem where you just couldn’t maneouver your character to a specific place. With the Wii, he hopes that they’ve overcame that obstacle.
New ideas? With Super Mario Galaxy, he says they’ve made it so that two players can simultaneously move Mario – whether helping each other out, or hindering each other. Something Miyamoto claims to have always wanted to do.
The game designer Sakurai does mention that the old GC controllers are still useable, and so don’t chuck them or sell them off. Oh, and Wario in Super Smash will have a special move – farting.
As for HD compatibility, they feel that maybe in about five years’ time, they’ll incorporate such specs, but for the time being, because not all families will have an HD TV, they’ve decided to do without.

If you can bear the jerky video, go here, click Trailer, the first one on your left – takes you to the E3 clip for the Mana series. Dawn of Mana is coming out on PS2, and there’s more action to be had on mobiles (from this summer). The trailer above is for a limited time only.
The next DQ (Swords) title is reportedly for the Wii, while FF XIII will be for the PS3, Square announced. The former has the code name DRAGON QUEST SWORD The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors and is to be launched at the same time as the Wii. For the DS, FF Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fate and for the Wii, FF Crystal Chronicles Crystal Bearers is in development.
Also at E3, the new PS3 has been unveiled. Looks nice enough, I suppose – controller pics/specs. The problem is, how many people are going to be able to afford it? Coming out in Japan 11th November this year, and in both the US and Europe on 17th November, PS3 is out first in one colour: Clear Black. Weighing in at 5kg (for rest of the specs, please look elsewhere – I’m just not that dedicated to Sony goods) the 20GB model will cost 499Euros (US$499), while 60GB model will cost 599Euros (US$599). They hope to have shipped out 2million initially, 4million by the end of this year, and 6million by the end of March next year. …Think I’d rather save my money for Wii and other Nintendo goods.
